Storm 98A continued with their strong play at the local Squirt 'A' level, and remain undefeated through the season, winning the North Delta Squirt 'A' tournament. On Friday and Saturday, they won all four round robin games, including a hard-fought battle against their rivals from the Ridge Meadows Pride 98. Those wins left Storm 98A in first place after round-robin play, and a bye into the semi-finals.
In the semi-final game, Storm 98A defeated Pride 99 by a score of 14-2. In the final, they defeated the White Rock Renegades 98 by a score of 9-0, in a rain-shortened game.
Congratulations to everyone for a solid effort throughout the weekend, and for your first Squirt 'A' tournament championship. Well done! |

Newton Pee Wee 'C' Fastpitch girls attended a player lead clinic on Wednesday, April 21st, from 6:00 - 7:30 PM. The Storm girls ran the Pee Wee girls through one of their typical practices - demonstrating, emphasizing and reinforcing the fundamental skills that help make them the players they are. Storm coaches Mike McDonald, Glenn Woodruff and Al Youngston were very impressed at how engaged the clinic participants and our Storm players were together - the benefits of peer to peer mentoring were obvious. Attached are a few photos that display some of the teaching and the fun that was had!
