Storm 98A Donates Ball Gear

When a Storm 98A player heard that her uncle was looking for ball gear to take to less fortunate kids in Venezuela, she stepped up to the plate... so to speak. The team and their siblings all pitched in with used gear for donation. As described in his blog, "El Salami Grande" speaks of his plan to take the ball gear on his trip to Venezuela to hand out to kids there. He describes his experiences of doing just that.

"I had seen it myself on previous trips to Latin America, but the most dramatic examples had always been stories. Kids playing ball with taped up rocks, making gloves out of milk cartons, playing barefoot."

In the blog, 'El Salami' thanks the Surrey Storm 98A team from Cloverdale for their more than generous gift of second hand softball gear.

"The most generous donor was the Storm Softball TeamĀ from Cloverdale, BC (featuring future superstar and official niece of elsalamigrande Morgan Mack) who turned up with more gear than I ever imagined being able to bring down here."

Great Job Storm 98A!
