| Storm 97A earns second place finish at the July 3-4th, 2010 ASA Combat Series Invite Tournament in Kent, Washington, USA.
To reach the finals, the Storm 97A team went undefeated in round robin play to earn the top seed going into the playoff round. They beat Marysville Blaze 4-2; came from behind to beat Washington Phoenix 3-2 including the unbelievable task of getting three outs with only 4 minutes left in the game to get the extra inning and earn the win; and finishing the day beating the Vancouver Wildcats 12-1.
For their semi-final game, they faced the Victoria Devils 97s for the first time this year. They played a strong overall game to win 6-1, earning a spot in the finals against the Blaze, a re-match from the round robin....
Both teams battled hard with Blaze up by one run after four innings. In the fifth, Blaze pulled ahead adding a few more runs and Storm just fell short 5-1.
With only nine players for the entire tournament, Michaela Moore, Tea Graf, Janey Thomas, Shaelyn Ogilvie, Raelyn Radovich, Daniella Vilio, Taylor Uyeno, Stephie Renkers and Vanessa Patrignani should all feel proud of their accomplishments.
The team is playing their best ball of the season and is looking for a strong finish at this year's provincial championship as a first year PeeWee team.
