July 3 - 4, 2010 - Surrey Storm ‘95B Wins Gold at ASA Combat Series Invite Tournament in Kent, Washington!

Surrey Storm ‘95B had an outstanding tournament this weekend as they prepare for their Provincial Championshipsin Port Alberni, BC in mid-July. They finished first in their pool after Saturday’s action… and in Sunday morning’s semi-final game, our girls defeated Kelowna Heat ’96 by a score of 14 – 2 behind the outstanding pitching from Holly Pundick; the powerful batting of Regan Cumiskey, Samantha Morrell, and Kourtney Rieder; and the solid defence of Alexandra Hunter and Paige MacDougall.....

In the tournament final against Nanaimo Breakers, our girls got a dominating game from pitcher Kelsey McDonald; excellent hitting and base running from Krysta Ivens and Christina Grant; and remarkable defence from second base Hayley Brooks and catcher Kendall Boone, winning the game 7 - 2 through 7 innings!  Kendall Boone, Hayley Brooks, Christina Grant and Krysta Ivens all received game all star recognition; while Kelsey McDonald received the Tournament MVP Award. Great job ladies!
