By Admin 01/30/2024, 10:45pm PST

Hello Storm families,

We have exciting news…

The association is putting on a FREE event February 17th at Fleetwood recreation center, the Surrey Storm High Performance Summit featuring Team Canada's Larissa Franklin!

  • Date: February 17 2024
  • Time: 5:30pm - 8:30pm
    5:30pm - 7pm presentation
    7:00pm - 8:30pm meet and greet/pizza dinner
  • Location: Fleetwood Recreation Centre
  • Address: 15996 84 Ave, Surrey

Every Storm athlete is invited to this interactive presentation by Larissa Franklin.

Full Description of Presentation in Larissa’s words:

Too often our capabilities are determined by our self-limiting beliefs or the opinions of others.

What if we decided our capabilities are boundless before we allow the fear of the unknown hold us back from discovering our potential?

What if instead of looking outward for answers we realized that everything we need is within us?

As a high-performance athlete, I know what it is like to strive for more. Too often in my Olympic pursuit, I questioned, did I do enough? Am I going to be enough? As the pressure to fulfill expectations barreled down, I looked to others for reassurance. It took one message to help me realize that I had everything I needed inside of me...and you do too.

All It Takes is within you, the key is, can YOU see it?

Learning Objectives

  • Learning to focus on your strengths and own your authenticity
  • Overcoming the pressure to be and do more
  • Cultivating a courageous mindset equipped to lean into fear
  • Learning to focus on wins and the importance of controlling your circle of influence
  • Discover how to reframe challenges and obstacles into opportunities
  • Learning to identify uniqueness's as strengths vs. differences

It also includes a meet and greet, where you will get to see Larissa's Olympic medal, as well as a pizza dinner  hosted by the Storm Association.

We strongly encourage every Storm athlete to attend, if possible.
