Kira Staley of Surrey BC, from the Surrey Storm 98B midget team, has officially signed with the Douglas College Royals Softball team.  Kira has played for the Surrey Storm Fastpitch organization for the past 8 years, from first year squirt to her final year of midget, under coaches Mike Mitro, Rob Warburton, Roger Grosset, and Heath Staley.  Kira is a 1-time gold medalist and 3-time silver medalist at the provincial level.  Kira is also a multi-player athlete having played volleyball at Seaquam Secondary in Delta BC as well as having played volleyball and basketball at Panorama Ridge Secondary in Surrey BC.  She also attended the Softball Academy at Seaquam Secondary.

Kira has enjoyed playing for the Surrey Storm Fastpitch organization and is looking forward to playing and developing as a collegiate player for the Douglas College Royals under Head Coach Michelle Peters.  Kira would also like to thank her parents and everyone who has been supportive of her over the years and especially, Kim Wright and Shannon Maion who have been her pitching/hitting coaches and mentors for the last 7 years. After spending countless hours at pitching clinics and working to develop her skills, Kira is excited to join the pitching lineup for the Royals and can’t wait to begin training for the 2017 season.
