The ladies of Storm 2003A were in Seattle this past weekend for the 16U Sea-Tac Metro Championships.  This tournament was a required qualifier to enable them to attend the USA Softball 16U National Championships later this month.

The girls battled hard and competed very well all weekend against older teams (in the US Storm 2003A is a 14U team).  They delivered two strong round robin games and came away with wins over the Sundodgers  (10-4) and Washington Illusion (9-5) to claim top spot in their pool.  Sunday saw them matched up against another strong team the NW Lady Bandits & they delivered a solid 7 inning effort with a walk off single getting them a 3-2 win and a date with  the Washington Ladyhawks in the quarter finals.

The girls played well against the Ladyhawks, but fell to them for the third time this year with an 8-3 loss eliminating them from playoffs - giving them a fifth place finish & snapping their eight game win streak.

The next two weeks will be very busy for the Storm girls.  Seven of them will be heading to Cowichan to participate in the BC Summer Games (Olina, Abby, Riley, Kathryn, Jordyn, Jordan & Cassie).  Immediately following the games, the team is headed back to Seattle one last time this season for the USA Softball 16U Nationals in Federal Way & right after that they will be back for U16A Provincials in Delta.
